The latest upgrade to RIM’S lineup, formerly known by its e-mail artistry as the Pearl, will make its presence known with authority when it arrives in the coming weeks. Although its size and overall feel are the same, there are enough changes (rather improvements) that you might not recognize it at first. However, once it’s in your hand, you will definitely be ready for the upgrade!
The name currently distributed is “Blackberry Pearl 9100”, and some references have been simply Pearl 3Gs. It would appear that RIM is consolidating or normalizing the look of the devices. This series brings an appearance congruent with other/current models when viewing its overall design changes and case.
Once categorized as an entry-level unit, the 9100 series is now a small form factor powerhouse. A smart phone hiding in plain sight; to casually remark that it is “the next Pearl” will not do it justice…let’s explore why.
