Apple made more money than..

January 29th, 2012 by Noman

Last quarter of 2011 was too good for Apple, in which they earn $46.33 billion to be more precise. But there is a question in everyone’s mind that Apple earns more than..?

A new site, Apple made more money than…, answers that question in apparently never-ending string of user submitted facts. At the top of page of the site contain a phrase “Apple made more money than…” to make display some facts. Lots of users have submitted their responses and facts.

Some highlights include:

  • 2204 Mitt Romney’s in 2011
  • 5.5 times the net worth of Steve Jobs
  • Enough to supply everyone on the planet with 147 oreo cookies
  • The entire value of apple in 2004
  • Twice as much as RIM made the whole year
  • Enough to buy every Chinese citizen dinner.
  • Eight times the GDP of Somolia
  • Nearly 2.5 times the 2010 budget of NASA
  • A stack of pennies 41,000 miles high.
  • Enough to put 1/10 of high school seniors through college.
  • Cost of 203 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
  • The value of 72,220 bars of gold.
  • The entire yearly defense budget of the U.K.
  • The monthly salary of 185 million Foxconn workers.

Definitely a few different and enlightening ways to look at the amount of revenue Apple pulled in last quarter. Perhaps the most eye-opening comparison comes when figuring out how much money the typical Foxconn worker makes in a year. Using the numbers provided, the average Foxconn worker makes $250 a month.

Feel free to include you own “Apple made more money than” facts in the comments.

There is a good news for Galaxy Nexus users in Canada and US. Previously Galaxy Nexus was available on Canadian networks Bell and Virgin Mobile but now it is coming on Telus and Rogers’s networks as well on January 13. The date is confirmed but the price and tariff is not confirmed yet.

Don’t feel jealous if you are in US because soon Sprint will be offering the Galaxy Nexus as well. This information actually comes from an Internet ad found on the web page of CNET and noticed by the eagle’s eyes of The Verge.

Over the last two years HTC has tremendous growth in the smartphone market but every line has its end. HTC two-year streak of continuous growth has been stopped by the holiday season. The Taiwanese company posted net profit of $364.26 million, which is a 25.5% decrease compared to the same period of last year.

And while the company already warned that it won’t be making its previously set targets, it even failed to meet the revisited goals. Obviously the company’s current portfolio is not faring particularly well, with the increased pressure from Samsung and Apple quoted as the main culprit.

HTC has lost its growth but it doesn’t mean that it is in loss. HTC is still going in profit but the company expects to see more of the same in the first quarter of 2012 with net profit expected to continue sliding. There’s still no reason to panic of course, as the company is still making cash rather than losing it and it’s probably just a hit product away from going back on the right road. Plus, the company was so successful recently that it saw its shares triple in just 14 months – there is no way it was going to maintain that kind of performance forever.

We are holding our breath for the new HTC announcements that should come at CES next week and then later, at the MWC in February. The company is expected to unveil the world’s first quad-core smart phone at one of these events and we can’t wait to get our hands on that beast.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was launched at the end of the last year but soon it becomes one of the best selling devices in the market. Most of the people have positive reviews about Galaxy Nexus but the only dissatisfaction was lack of a 32GB version. According to our forum most of the users were missing the 32GB version.

We have good news for Samsung lovers who were waiting for 32GB Galaxy Nexus. Now, it’s a reality that Samsung 32 GB Galaxy will be available in approximately 4 weeks time. So keep your finger crossed because the device will be in our warehouse in the first week of February.

You can place your orders for Galaxy Nexus 32GB in black on negrielectronics.com; the price of the device is not confirmed yet but it will be round about £599 including VAT.

The Galaxy Nexus 16 GB version in white will arrive in 2 weeks time, so we had the permission from Samsung to start taking the orders for 16 GB version. It is also a very nice device and equally popular in the market.

Just for an overview, the Galaxy Nexus is first phone to run the latest version of Google’s open source operating system (Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, good quality camera with 1080p HD video recording and zero shooter lag. The speed of the processor makes it easy to process the tasks easily. Another great feature is the 4.65 inch Super AMOLED screen that’s slightly curved like the body so that the Nexus sits beautifully in your hand.

iPhone & Blackberry banned in Argentina

January 1st, 2012 by Noman

The government of Argentina has banned the import and sales of Apple’s iPhone and all Blackberry Smartphones. The ban is originally for all foreign-made phones but Apple and RIM is the most effected makers. Apple and Blackberry don’t have factories in Argentina that is why they are in focus.

This ban didn’t affect the Nokia, Samsung, LG and Motorola because they have already built plants in Argentina, so they all escape the recent Government ban.

This is really a bad news and a big loss for Apple and RIM. Apple and RIM reportedly hold about 60% of the Argentinean smartphone market so this is no minor blow. The only option for Apple and RIM is to build a factory in Argentina. RIM is already looking for the partner to solve this problem but there is no news about Apple what they are going to do.

This is basically a temporary ban and a part of the government’s anti-crisis policy until the Argentinean economy heals.

The HTC Sensation: A New Sensation from HTC

June 30th, 2011 by Antonette Pineda

In today’s world, the competition for smartphone supremacy is heating up and manufacturers have been coming out with mobile phones that have features and specs that could make even the most discerning of phone geeks drool.

With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S II, the smartphone market may have tipped in favor of Samsung but the Taiwanese company is trying to level out the playing field by coming out with the HTC Sensation.

The HTC Sensation is the latest flagship device from HTC and is without a doubt their best smartphone ever. Measuring 126.1 x 65.4 x 11.3 mm, the HTC Sensation may look a bit small for a handset that sports a 4.3-inch display. It is a testament therefore to the ingenuity of the designers and engineers of this device to be able to pack so much in so little.

Also, the unibody construction of the HTC Sensation is just to die for. It has an outer shell made out of aluminum that makes very sturdy. It has ergonomic curves that just feel so natural and comfortable to the hand and everything about it just screams impressive build quality.

Under the hood, the HTC Sensation packs a dual-core 1.2GHz QualComm MSM8260 SnapDragon processor and 768MB of RAM at its disposal. The processor-RAM combination of the HTC Sensation is so capable that the only challenge they have to face is looking for stuff that could actually challenge them.

On the other hand, an Adreno 220 GPU handles graphical matters while your storage needs are covered by the 1GB of onboard memory. Most definitely, the 1GB won’t be enough but you have at your disposal its microSD card slot that can handle cards of up to 32GB for additional storage.

The HTC Sensation’s front panel is eaten up by its 4.3-inch qHD display with a 960 x 540 resolution and is covered in Gorilla Glass for added protection. As expected, it has the usual array of sensors such as proximity, gyro and accelerometer and supports multi-touch gestures.

Like most Android superphones, the HTC Sensation also has dual cameras – a rear-facing 8-megapixel shooter with autofocus and dual-LED flash and a front-facing VGA camera that can act as your personal webcam for your video calls.

In terms of operating system, the HTC Sensation runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread overlaid with the brand new HTC Sense 3.0. With the components under the hood powering up the handset’s operating system, everything seems instantaneous. Apps pull up in no time at all, responsiveness is exceptional, lag and stutter are almost nonexistent and everything is just buttery smooth.

In terms of juice, the HTC Sensation packs a Standard 1520 mAh Lithium-Ion battery that powers the device for up to 6 hours and 40 minutes of talk time and up to 400 hours of standby time on a single charge before it runs on empty.

Overall, the HTC Sensation may just make every superphone claiming to be number one in the market a serious run for their money. With all the impressive specs that the handset packs and the latest iteration of Sense UI overlaid on Gingerbread packed neatly in its very streamlined unibody construction with its exceptionally sharp qHD display, the HTC Sensation is just sensational.

The HTC Sensation is now available for pre-order at Negri Electronics so click here if you want to take this baby home.

It seems that Samsung is keeping itself quiet busy in terms of developments and news. The new development that is going to surprise Samsung lovers is the upgrade in store for their Galaxy S and Galaxy tabs. The upgrade to Gingerbread from Froyo is expected to bring a fresh breeze to the entire series of Samsung Galaxy S devices which was expected to start by the middle of this month in UK and Nordic countries for starters.

According to its regional plan, Samsung will make developments in the devices of the European markets thereafter. This takes into account, North America, South-East Asia, the Middle East Asia, Africa and then the rest of the world. The Gingerbread 2.3 will allow the users to work through a faster performance in terms of powerful 3D graphics which shall take your gaming experience to another level. To add more spice, your multimedia content will occupy a lower CPU consumption rate.

Other than this, the speculations also indicate that it will also enable its users to foresee a better usability. This means that the consumers will not only be able to do a copy-paste job faster but will even visit a more quick response of its keys. It is said that Gingerbread will give its users a new dimension in the field of a gyroscope and near field communications (NFC) which can enable mobile payments. But since the NFC requires the need for an NFC chip, its absence will not be able to compliment Galaxy S and Galaxy tab devices.

Due to the unique functionalities of different Galaxy S versions, the testing process is taking a little longer than expected especially in the US. And it is even believed that Galaxy users in the US will not be able to experience the upgrade. This upgrade will be available to a person through Kies, simple device management software by Samsung. It can easily be downloaded from the official site of Samsung which will then enable its users to upgrade their devices into a more useful gadget.

This upgrade sensation has hit the other companies very well who have already started working on upgrading their devices to give strong competition to Samsung. Along with this, companies like Motorola, HTC and a few others have even gone into designing new products to suit the need for a Gingerbread technology to fit in. So it is clear that Samsung might have to face tough consequences due to the lack of the NFC chip in its devices which gives a phone a new meaning for its usage and opens a door to a different group of consumers.
