New Site, New Blog Manager, Open Blogging Positions

Ryan J. Negri - CEO | March 6, 2010

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let everyone know that the new site is up and running. You will notice some blazing fast speeds and some great new features throughout the entire site. We have put a TON of work into this, and still more is needed. We are looking for another “Web” developer to assist us with the additions that need to be put into the site. Please contact me directly to submit your request to work for us.  Also, your comments are appreciated. We need to know if you find ANYTHING wrong with the site at all. Submit anything you find to our site Admin.

We are currently accepting applications for our paid blogging positions. Also accepting “free” writers as well. If you would like your voice heard (or read) by thousands of people every month, this is the place for that. Negri Electronics is one of the only (strictly) high end wireless electronics stores online, so we have a unique niche. Your posts mean alot to us and to our customers. The more information that is posted the more information that can be shared throughout the web. Please apply to me directly for more information on Blogging for NE!

Our new Blog Manger is Jean Paul Navarro. (You may contact him directly if my reply is delayed) He will be recruiting new bloggers, posting information he has, and assisting in making the Negri Electronics Blog as popular as can be.  We thank him for all of his hard work so far, and anticipate some great things.

Thank you for your time.

Please contact me for any reason, I am always here.

Nexus One Gets Software Update, Multitouch

Brando | February 3, 2010

phone

Nexus One owners can now rejoice; a software update is on it’s way to enable multitouch in the phone’s browser, gallery, and maps applications. According to a post on the google nexus board, new functionality has been implemented in the google maps application including: Starred items synchronized with maps.google.com – access your favorite places from your phone or computer,
Search suggestions from your personal maps.google.com history – makes it easy to search for places you’ve searched for before, and
Night mode in Google Maps Navigation – automatically changes your screen at night for easier viewing and driving.

The update is being rolled out to phones through the end of the week.  The Nexus One is also available for sale here.

Google show off their own tablet

Jean-Paul Navarro | February 2, 2010

Last Monday, Glen Murphy a user interface designer for Google’s Chrome browser and the Chrome operating system pointed out on twitter that new image and video concepts of a Chrome OS-based tablet that nobody had noticed, that were released 2 days before the iPad release (great timing).  He ointed this out by tweeting “Apparently our tablet mocks have been unearthed.”  As stated on the Chromium form factors site “its primary focus is Netbooks, Chrome OS could eventually scale to a wide variety of devices. Each would have vastly different input methods, available screen space, and processing power,”.

Google Chrome OS Screenshot

Jean-Paul Navarro | October 12, 2009

I’ve tested out the new Google Chrome OS, and am not sure if I like it or not.  Its very much like Linux, but would not switch it with Windows 7…  The screenshots below were taken by me.  It does come with Gimp and OpenOffice.

Multitouch coming to Google Android 2.0?

Jean-Paul Navarro | August 12, 2009

Rumor has it that the Android 2.0 with Multi-Touch will be coming this year…  But it isn’t official.  Even though some manufacturers like HTC have included their own multi-touch features in phones like the Hero, this update will still be different since you will be adding the feature through a software upgrade that Google is directly involved with.

Developer Luke Hutch demonstrates the use of multi-touch on the G1

Jean-Paul Navarro | July 29, 2009

Yes, you read right…  Creative have confirmed the Creative Zii Egg, which I personally think is amazing!!!  Its got Multi-touch, HD video playback, packed with up to 32gb on storage, and

you can buy one for $399…  But Creative have announced this as a “developer edition” so it wont be ‘bug-free’.  I personally love Android, but I don’t think that they’re ready yet…
