MacLife Magazine announces the Kanto SYD 5 as a winner in its “Gear of the Year” awards. The only iPod Speaker System to win an award.tanto-greenred-200

The SYD 5 combines superior performance, elegance, and craftsmanship into a powerful, hand crafted, feature-rich speaker system. This system is compatible with all iPods, iPhones and 99.9% of mp3 players! Here is what people are saying about the SYD 5…

The SYD 5′s quality is evident even before cracking open the box. At just over 22 lbs, the unit proves surprisingly heavy. This is likely due to a combination of its real-wood cabinet, stout driver magnets and hefty amplifier. Once we opened the box, we found a gorgeous gloss piano black lacquer finish staring back at us. (The SYD 5 is also available in a glossy Blue, Green, White and Red.) The furniture-grade finish showed no streaking or haze either – an indication of Kanto’s high standards of manufacturing. — Digital Trends Review

Do you already have an Apple iPad? First of all congratulations, you’re one of those lucky ones who already have one of the most desired devices these days.
If you already have the device or you will receive in coming days, the first thing you do is download a good number of applications to take full advantage of it.
Yet there is not much variety of applications and most have to be paid for, but here are 5 cool and free applications for your new gadget.

  • Yahoo Entertainment – If anything is surprising for most applications that have come to the iPad is the fantastic design and careful finishing of almost all of them. The implementation of Yahoo Entertainment is clearly an example. It is one of the most beautiful applications that we currently have in the App Store.
  • We rule HD - One of the funniest games I’ve tried for iPhone and iPod touch. Now the same game gets adapted to the iPad, with plenty of space and a more comfortable thanks to its much larger screen. The formula repeated game, the idea is simple: we are a feudal lord and we have to take care of all our people and keep doing the operation of the investment. The game is still free and is so fun and I consider essential in every terminal.
  • ABC - A few days before the start of the iPad a rumor began to sound that there was the possibility that ABC and CBS distribute free content including ads in their videos. That rumor has become true with the implementation of ABC. It seems that is being a great example of good work by the ABC, as they have created an application from which we can see streaming all series that are broadcast on ABC for free. All the analysis and place it as one of the most incredible of applications available today.
  • Evernote - This is one of those programs that raise passions and love equally, but it is amazing what you can get out of an idea as simple as that of their developers. The program has now been updated and offers compatibility with all three Apple devices, but in the iPad looks really good, since we can see all our tasks. They have also included a new display by “stacks” in a way similar to the application “Photos” of the iPad.
  • TweetDeck – Finally one of the few applications available for use Twitter, Twitterrific have talked about but I think that the adaptation of the company is so poor. I think they have done a fantastic job of adapting a design while offering something different, that we are seeing a very attractive visual style. Big surprise of a Twitter client that looks very well.
