Boy Genius Report was able to get its hands on Verizon Wireless’ supposed 2010/2011 roadmap for its mobile devices. Android users can rejoice as many of the leaked products deal with the Google OS. Among the most exciting news from this roadmap include news of a Motorola Droid Pro, Android tablets from both Motorola and Samsung, and LTE coverage from the network.
If the roadmap is correct, the Motorola Droid Pro will sport a 1.3Ghz processor, a 4 inch screen, and global roaming capabilities. The Droid Pro is set for a November 2010 release and is one of many Android devices coming to Verizon. Verizon will release many other Android phones from both Samsung and HTC.
Motorola and Samsung are both working on a touchscreen tablet running on the Android OS. While Samsung will be also be releasing a Android touchscreen tablet with Verizon, it is Motorola’s tablet that is perhaps the most interesting to Android fans. The rumored device will sport either a 1GHz or 1.3 GHz processor, a 10 inch screen and run on Android 3.o and will most likely come out around February 2011.

“Being Connected” at one time meant who you knew in a particular situation. Today, it means quite literally “Can you connect to the internet and do X, Y, Z or get 1, 2, 3…”
As the PC amplified our productivity, generated new interests [and at times, pitfalls] it also brought with it a whole other experiential existence bordering on a neurosis for some. Even though cell phones moved from basic calling devices to smart phones, and provided many conveniences such as modem capabilities, there still exists a need for the laptop or ultra mobile pc. With that need [whether real or perceived] comes a very real expectation: “Can I get to my inbox or send that spreadsheet on the fly, etc. ?”
Enter the Wireless Air Card. What a marvel of technology and innovation that can be. Let’s explore some of the advantages over the smartest of phones…

Apple have announced that on Friday, the one millionth iPad was sold. This milestone was reached in less then a month! iPad users have also already downloaded over 12 million iPad apps from the App Store and over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore. Steve Jobs said “One million iPads in 28 days—that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone”

Apple have just revealed what could be the biggest ever iPhone software update. The update will include over a 100 new features, and will ship this summer for iPhone and iPod touch, and for iPad in the fall. Changelog:
- Multitasking – This feature allows users to run apps in the background whilst doing something else in the mean-time.
- Folders – Apps could be organized into folder done through a drag-and-drop environment.
- iBooks – This allows users to browse, buy and read books on your device. Search for thousands of books from the iBookstore could easily be done through title, author or genre filtering.
- Developers – a new iPhone SDK gives developers access to over 1500 new API’s which allow for better applications to be built.
- iAd – Apple’s own mobile advertising platform which allow apps to include media ads.
iPhone OS 4 will work with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the second and third generation iPod. Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 3GS and the third-generation iPod touch (32GB and 64GB models from late 2009). Something like this was excepted, they are Apple after all…
Some devices on AT&T have a 5GB data cap on them, but with the Apple iPad wi-fi + 3G, when you pay the $29.99, you have unlimited data. Not 5GB of data, UNLIMITED. So surf the web till’ your hearts content.

We Already know the first estimates of sales of the new object of desire, the Apple iPad, which pass the half a million units sold in its first day. This is an estimate, made by a prestigious analyst (Gene Munster), though are not official data. He told that between 600k and 700k units were sold on the first day.
I do not know if, as is the view of many analysts, sales of the iPad will soon exceed those of the iPhone, I do know that the sales of the first day, the pre-booking and all the indicators you like to have, suggest that the launch of the device is being a success. A Smashing Success to be honest…
Do you already have an Apple iPad? First of all congratulations, you’re one of those lucky ones who already have one of the most desired devices these days.
If you already have the device or you will receive in coming days, the first thing you do is download a good number of applications to take full advantage of it.
Yet there is not much variety of applications and most have to be paid for, but here are 5 cool and free applications for your new gadget.
- Yahoo Entertainment – If anything is surprising for most applications that have come to the iPad is the fantastic design and careful finishing of almost all of them. The implementation of Yahoo Entertainment is clearly an example. It is one of the most beautiful applications that we currently have in the App Store.
- We rule HD - One of the funniest games I’ve tried for iPhone and iPod touch. Now the same game gets adapted to the iPad, with plenty of space and a more comfortable thanks to its much larger screen. The formula repeated game, the idea is simple: we are a feudal lord and we have to take care of all our people and keep doing the operation of the investment. The game is still free and is so fun and I consider essential in every terminal.
- ABC - A few days before the start of the iPad a rumor began to sound that there was the possibility that ABC and CBS distribute free content including ads in their videos. That rumor has become true with the implementation of ABC. It seems that is being a great example of good work by the ABC, as they have created an application from which we can see streaming all series that are broadcast on ABC for free. All the analysis and place it as one of the most incredible of applications available today.
- Evernote - This is one of those programs that raise passions and love equally, but it is amazing what you can get out of an idea as simple as that of their developers. The program has now been updated and offers compatibility with all three Apple devices, but in the iPad looks really good, since we can see all our tasks. They have also included a new display by “stacks” in a way similar to the application “Photos” of the iPad.
- TweetDeck – Finally one of the few applications available for use Twitter, Twitterrific have talked about but I think that the adaptation of the company is so poor. I think they have done a fantastic job of adapting a design while offering something different, that we are seeing a very attractive visual style. Big surprise of a Twitter client that looks very well.
